Pierre-Vincent Girardin – the new generation of Meursault

Born into a family of vignerons stretching back to the 16th century, Pierre-Vincent Girardin grew up in the cellars of Meursault. After vinifying his first wines at the age of 21, he launched his own domaine in 2017, working parcels inherited from his father Vincent Girardin alongside carefully chosen négociant fruit. From the very beginning, the ambition was clear: to bring a new precision, energy and elegance to some of Burgundy’s greatest terroirs.

Girardin farms and vinifies across a mosaic of villages and crus – from Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune to Puligny-Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne and Bâtard-Montrachet. His whites are taut, mineral and finely etched, often marked by long, slow élevage in larger 456-liter barrels that preserve tension and purity. The reds, shaped by whole-cluster fermentations and gentle extraction, combine perfumed lift with depth and refined structure.

What defines Girardin’s style is a rare balance: wines that feel at once classical and contemporary. There is restraint, clarity and mineral backbone, but also generosity and sensuality. Within just a few vintages, his work has caught the attention of sommeliers, collectors and critics, positioning him among the most exciting names of Burgundy’s new generation.

Pierre-Vincent Girardin is Burgundy with a fresh voice – respectful of tradition, but driven by a fearless vision of what’s possible in the years to come.
