Hervé Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 2021
In frost-hit 2021, Hervé Roumier’s Chambolle-Musigny emerged from dramatically reduced yields, capturing a crystalline, silk-lined purity that defines the village. Drawn from chalk-streaked mid-slope parcels, it marries violet-tinged finesse with lithe grape intensity and cool limestone salinity, its allure heightened by a domaine output of barely 9.000 bottles across all cuvees.

The Domaine
Created in 1978 when Hervé Roumier branched off from his family’s storied holdings, this 3.5-hectare enclave is among Burgundy’s tiniest domaines. Since Hervé’s passing, Véronique Roumier has run the cellar and vineyards single-handedly, releasing no more than 9.000 bottles each year. Long, low-intervention élevage mirrors the broader Roumier philosophy, letting each site speak with precision and grace. Allocations remain vanishingly small, yet the wines routinely rival their grandest neighbours in depth and poise.
