Domaine DeCéline

Domaine DeCéline is a new, independent domaine with its own parcels, its own cellar and a clear identity. That a family of Groffier's standing should divide some of Burgundy's most celebrated vineyards and open an entirely new domaine around them is unusual to a degree one almost never sees.

The name DeCéline comes from Nicolas' wife, Céline, who follows the vinification closely. The first release of AOC wines is 2024. From 2025, the historic vineyard portfolio was genuinely divided between Domaine Robert Groffier and Domaine DeCéline. Each domaine now works with its own defined parcels, its own direction in the vineyards and its own cellar philosophy.
Nicolas has created Domaine DeCéline as a place of real freedom. The new winery allows for small steel tanks, long and gentle processes and an entirely different interpretation of Pinot Noir than under the historic Groffier name. Production is extremely small, and only five markets were given access to the first vintage. The ambition is fully on a level with the parcels that have been placed in the new domaine.
DeCéline has a more immediate and transparent style than Domaine Robert Groffier. The wines show juice, perfume and texture early, while the depth of the vineyards remains completely intact. This is a serious new domaine with some of Burgundy's greatest terroirs and a freedom that is exceedingly rare around such an iconic family name.
Vineyards and cellar
Own parcels and an independent cellar philosophy
The parcels have been separated out as distinct holdings under Domaine DeCéline. Le Champ des Loups is Bourgogne Côte d'Or. Les Croix comes from the sandy part of Les Sentiers on the lower slope below Bonnes Mares. Les Lieux-Dits comes from roughly 40-year-old vines in Hauts-Doix, alongside the older vines still used in Domaine Robert Groffier's cuvée.
Ma Parcelle comes from the middle section of the family's Les Amoureuses holding and has been separated out as DeCéline's own parcel. Domaine Robert Groffier's Amoureuses cuvées use the upper and lower parts. La Souveraine comes from DeCéline's own share of Bonnes Mares and gives the new domaine a grand cru of enormous weight from the first vintage.
The cellar is built around small steel tanks, no barrel élevage and a very low-sulphur direction. The aim is clear: maximum juice, pure fruit and an open, undisturbed texture.
The wines
Bourgogne Côte d’Or, Le Champ des Loups Régionale

Le Champ des Loups is light, juicy and almost transparent in its fruit. Red berries, flowers and very fine tannin make it open from the start, but the material has far more depth than an ordinary regional Bourgogne. A precise introduction to DeCéline's free style.
Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru, Les Croix Premier Cru

Les Croix is the lightest and most perfumed of the premier cru wines. Red flowers, raspberry and a clear mineral finish make for a wine of great finesse. The open texture makes it immediate, but the site gives it more depth than the wine first reveals.
Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru, Les Lieux-Dits Premier Cru

Les Lieux-Dits comes from the same great terroir as Groffier's Hauts-Doix, but from younger vines and with DeCéline's entirely different élevage. The result is juicy fruit, flowers and a silken structure. A fascinating parallel reading of one of Chambolle's finest premier crus.
Les Amoureuses, Ma Parcelle Premier Cru

Ma Parcelle has the intense perfume of Les Amoureuses, but in a more open and immediate form. Roses, red berries and spice flow through a juicy texture. It remains a great and rare wine, but it invites you in earlier than the classic Groffier cuvées.
Bonnes Mares, La Souveraine Grand Cru

La Souveraine has the dark fruit and grand structure of Bonnes Mares, while DeCéline's work in steel gives a direct and juicy texture. The wine is serious, long and already unusually open. A grand cru that shows how significant Domaine DeCéline may become.
The first allocations arrive in September 2026. Current vintages, formats and quantities appear on the price list. The smallest cuvées are distributed by allocation.
