Modot-Guyon is one of the most exciting rebirths in Burgundy right now. The family's vineyards are back in their own hands, and from the first vintage Adrien Guyon has shown an unusually clear eye for Chambolle-Musigny.

Adrien Guyon
Adrien Guyon re-established the domaine together with his mother Christelle in 2021–2022. The family had not made wine under its own name since 2004, and for almost two decades the vineyards had been leased out to, among others, Méo-Camuzet and Felettig. The first new vintage was 2023.
Adrien is a great young talent with a clear idea of what Chambolle should be: perfumed, lifted, sensual and precise. He is in the vineyards himself every day, and the work is physical and consistent. Everything is done by hand, and certain parcels are ploughed by horse. This creates a very close relationship with the old vines and with the differences he wants to preserve in the wines.
The debut vintage was convincing from the first bottle and revealed a domaine with a strong foundation and an already recognisable style. The use of whole clusters is very high, while the fruit stands pure and clear. Modot-Guyon has the history, the vineyard material and the talent to become one of the names that will define the next generation in Chambolle-Musigny.
Vineyards and cellar
Old vines and serious Chambolle terroirs
The domaine's cuvées range from Coteaux Bourguignons Aux Batailles and Bourgogne Pinot Noir to Chambolle-Musigny village, Les Creux Baissants and the premier cru Les Fuées. The village wine draws on old parcels including Les Fouchères, Les Maladiers, Les Mal Carrées and Clos de l'Orme. Some vines date back to around 1930.
Aux Batailles is around 80 years old, Bourgogne Pinot Noir has vines of 60 years and more, and Les Fuées lies at around 50–60 years. Les Fuées borders Bonnes Mares and is one of the premier crus that can give Chambolle both dark depth and great perfume. Les Creux Baissants shows a cooler, more focused expression with a particular open charm.
In 2023, Bourgogne Pinot Noir was vinified with around 80 per cent whole clusters, Chambolle village with around 20 per cent, and Les Creux Baissants with 100 per cent. The proportions change with vintage and parcel. The wines are bottled without fining or filtration. The result is Chambolle with flowers, juice, tension and real structure.

Coteaux Bourguignons, Aux Batailles Régionale

Aux Batailles has a depth rarely encountered in Coteaux Bourguignons. Red and dark berries, spices and a juicy core are carried by the natural concentration of old vines. It is open and alive, yet has enough substance to develop. A strong start to the range.
Bourgogne Pinot Noir Régionale
Vines 60+ years old · approx. 80 per cent whole clusters in 2023
A regional Bourgogne with genuine Chambolle character. The nose is lifted, with roses, red berries and pepper from the whole clusters, while the old vines give depth and length. It tastes like a wine made with the same seriousness as the domaine's larger cuvées.
Chambolle-Musigny Village
Blend of several old village parcels, including Les Fouchères, Les Maladiers, Les Mal Carrées and Clos de l'Orme
A composed, generous Chambolle with roses, raspberries and a silken tannin. The different parcels give both open perfume and a deeper core. Adrien strikes Chambolle's particular balance between lightness and intensity with impressive assurance.
Chambolle-Musigny, Les Creux Baissants Village

Les Creux Baissants is cooler, more focused and more spiced. The whole clusters lift the nose and build length, while the fruit is darker and more concentrated. It is a village wine with premier cru ambition and a very distinct identity.
Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru, Les Fuées Premier Cru
Vines 50–60 years old · premier cru directly below Bonnes Mares
Les Fuées is the domaine's great wine. It has dark perfume, violet, forest berries and a firm, chalky core. The proximity to Bonnes Mares brings power and length, while Adrien preserves Chambolle's finesse. A remarkably complete first premier cru and a wine that clearly shows the domaine's potential.
Bourgogne Aligoté Régionale
Old vines · around 60 years
An upright, saline Aligoté with lemon, green herbs and a firm, energetic texture. The old vines give more concentration than usual, and the finish is long and dry. A very serious white from a red-wine domaine.
Bourgogne Chardonnay Régionale
Chardonnay from the family's own parcels · produced in small quantities
A cool Chardonnay with citrus, white flowers and a discreet nutty character. The acidity is clear, and the wine comes together beautifully with air. It shows the same precision and lightness as the red wines and is far more than a supplement to the range.
