Domaine Fourrier

Old vines, minimal intervention, and Jean-Marie Fourrier’s uncompromising vision – wines that embody Burgundy at its most honest.

Domaine Fourrier – Gevrey’s timeless precision

Few domaines in Burgundy inspire as much respect among collectors as Domaine Fourrier. Based in Gevrey-Chambertin and tracing its history back to the 1930s, the estate rose to global recognition under Jean-Marie Fourrier, who took over from his father in 1994 after formative stages with Henri Jayer and at Domaine Drouhin in Oregon.

Jean-Marie’s vision was clear: to capture the purity of fruit and the voice of terroir with as little intervention as possible. Old vines – many planted before World War II – form the backbone of the domaine’s holdings across Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis and Griotte-Chambertin. Winemaking is deliberately restrained: no more than 20% new oak, indigenous yeasts, careful destemming, and no racking until bottling. The result is wines of crystalline clarity, vibrant perfume and fine-boned texture – Pinot Noir in its most expressive form.

From the silken, lifted Gevrey villages to the haunting depth of Clos Saint-Jacques and the rare Griotte-Chambertin, Fourrier’s wines stand among the most authentic and captivating in Burgundy. They are wines that marry delicacy with presence, detail with soul – bottles that age gracefully but speak beautifully even in youth.

Domaine Fourrier is a benchmark of modern Burgundy: precision, patience and heritage distilled into wines of intensity and timeless allure.
