Domaine Lafouge Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru Climat du Val 2023
Perched deep in the Auxey valley, Climat du Val is one of the domaine’s most distinctive premiers crus. Fifty-year-old Pinot Noir rooted in richer soils at 260 m produces a mineral, straight-lined red with black cherry, rose petal and fine tannins. The 2023 harvest saturates the mid-palate, while limestone freshness carries the finish with clarity and poise. Just 2.700 bottles were produced.

The Domaine
Domaine Lafouge has quietly stewarded Auxey-Duresses vineyards since 1650, yet under sixth-generation vigneron Maxime Lafouge the cellar now punches far above its weight. Farming lutte raisonnée and harvesting entirely by hand, the family crafts whites and reds that rival better-known Meursault addresses while remaining refreshingly modest in price. Rarité is proud to serve as the estate’s Danish partner, offering allocations that vanish quickly among in-the-know Burgundy collectors.
