The luminous 2020 season bathed the Sarrians plateau in Provençal sunshine, yet nightly mistral breezes preserved the freshness Emmanuel Reynaud prizes. Hand-picked Grenache berries were joined by Syrah, Cinsault, Counoise and a whisper of Merlot, then fermented whole-berry in concrete to lock in rose-hip perfume and silken texture. Eighteen months in neutral foudres have wrapped supple tannins around a vibrant core of red plum, garrigue and warm sand. Bottled unfiltered and released at the domaine’s discretion, the wine vanishes almost as soon as word escapes the cellar.

The Domaine
Nestled in Sarrians beneath the Dentelles de Montmirail, Château des Tours belongs to the Reynaud family of Château Rayas fame. Emmanuel Reynaud farms the 40-hectare estate organically, favouring deep ploughing and strict leaf thinning to temper yields. In the cellar he shuns new oak and technology, trusting long élevage and low sulfur to reveal haunting purity. The resulting wines marry Rhône generosity with an almost Burgundian finesse, making every release a prized allocation for aficionados.
