Domaine des Tours Pays de Vaucluse 2019
Reynaud’s 2019 Pays de Vaucluse rouge belies its humble IGP tag, turning sun-drenched Grenache from the Sarrians plateau into silken layers of red plum, rose hip and sun-warmed earth. Whole berries fermented in concrete preserve the domaine’s hallmark translucency, while 18 months in neutral foudres polish supple tannins to velvet. Low yields endowed a deeper core without dulling lift, offering collectors an everyday glimpse of the Rayas touch. Unsurprisingly, the cuvée evaporates the instant it hits the market.

The Domaine
Nestled in Sarrians beneath the Dentelles de Montmirail, Château des Tours belongs to the Reynaud family of Château Rayas fame. Emmanuel Reynaud farms the 40-hectare estate organically, favouring deep ploughing and strict leaf thinning to temper yields. In the cellar he shuns new oak and technology, trusting long élevage and low sulfur to reveal haunting purity. The resulting wines marry Rhône generosity with an almost Burgundian finesse, making every release a prized allocation for aficionados.
