Emmanuel Reynaud’s 2020 Réserve harnesses a season of luminous Provençal days and cooling mistral nights to marry amplitude with verve. Low-yielding Grenache clusters reached perfect phenolic ripeness by late September, then fermented as whole berries in concrete to lock in wild strawberry perfume and signature silk. An 18-month rest in neutral foudres has folded structure into velvet while preserving a vibrant thread of saline minerality. Bottled unfiltered and released only when Reynaud deems it ready, the wine disappears before most collectors even hear of its existence.

The Domaine
Nestled in Sarrians beneath the Dentelles de Montmirail, Château des Tours belongs to the Reynaud family of Château Rayas fame. Emmanuel Reynaud farms the 40-hectare estate organically, favouring deep ploughing and strict leaf thinning to temper yields. In the cellar he shuns new oak and technology, trusting long élevage and low sulfur to reveal haunting purity. The resulting wines marry Rhône generosity with an almost Burgundian finesse, making every release a prized allocation for aficionados.
