Krug Vintage 2002
A monumental release even by Krug standards, the 2002 is widely regarded as one of the house’s finest vintages of the modern era. Dubbed Ode to Nature for its near-perfect growing season, the wine is deep and harmonious, unfolding in layers of roasted hazelnut, citrus oil, brioche and wet chalk. It combines the radiance of the year with Krug’s signature grip, length and complexity.

Fun Fact: Krug’s 2002 was released after the 2003 due to its long élevage and the house’s insistence on patience; the result is a wine of rare poise that continues to evolve beautifully two decades on.

The Domaine
Founded in 1843, Krug remains the ultimate expression of Champagne craftsmanship. Each wine is built from individual plots vinified in old oak, a rarity even among top houses. Now under the stewardship of Olivier Krug, the domaine continues to blend uncompromising méthode with an intuitive, musical sensibility—crafting wines as much composed as they are fermented.
